My name is Ellie. I’m an intuitive wordsmith with a systems-thinking bias.

I love to build worlds, and then the backend systems to support them - whether it’s through fine-tuning precise and definitively branded copy, or planning and executing immersive event experiences.

For the last 4 years I’ve worked as a Content Design Specialist for Australia’s largest telco, while freelancing for local creatives and running Babie Club - my capstone live music and nightlife events brand in Melbourne.

My background is in copywriting and social/digital media marketing, providing content and strategy solutions for ideas-driven brands - from SaaS and tech start-ups, to independent women-led brands and coaches, to social enterprises and charities.

I love rollerskating, Paramore, and my ragdoll cat named Chiffon.

I launched Illicit Empress in 2016 to host the spectrum of my work.
