HYPERMNESIA 99

January 22, 2017

This was my second time working with Bryn and third with Helena, and they’re the sort of people you can’t help but look forward to shooting with. Bryn’s meticulous brand of photography is inimitable, emphasising the story elements behind the characters he dreams up and develops. Gritty, dark, empowered - it’s an honour to be chosen to portray these kinds of strong and dynamic women. Not to mention, the skillful handiwork that goes behind creating the costumes and makeup looks in collaboration with Helena - it’s hard to not admire creatives who are really able to tap into multiple fields to bring their vision to life. The many intricate pieces of armour and costume I wore came together terrifically, as did the various hair and makeup details (how killer are those green extensions?!). Helena created dimension and texture by griming me up with Essence of Parisienne, which I swear smelled delicious in a very unexpected way, and Bryn’s keen eye for detail brought these cinematic, impactful images to life. Having the chance to work with these two incredibly talented individuals is not something to take for granted!

Thank you both for having me!

Shooting with Matt and Lucas was incredibly impromptu, and I was bleary-eyed when I received a message from Matt at midnight the night before asking to shoot. I was already seeing Paul but luckily a dual shoot was on the table - so in the wintery Melbourne evening, we all met up to start the night with some pho (duh), then went on to explore Chinatown with film and digital alike.

While dodging innocent shoppers and employees in minimarts never gets old, exploring an empty green-and-gold shopping centre after-hours was definitely a highlight. It looked straight out of the 80s - giant green ferns, polished granite tabletops and mirrors upon mirrors littered the space. This late night shoot played with flash in a way that normally makes me run for the hills - but Matt and Lucas took some incredible shots, and were just as fantastic company to boot.

ALEIRA MOON

April 20, 2016

I had an amazing time collaborating on this shoot - Aleira Moon was a ball of energy and whimsy, and her creative vision was definitely one I fell in love with as soon as I first laid eyes on her work. The idea behind this shoot was "Colour Punk", and while incidentally a lot of the final shots turned out beautifully in black and white, playing in this colourful abandoned building with so much gorgeous light pouring in made for a great day.

Lucie Stauff was the talented soul behind the hair and makeup - I've never worn such intricate braids before, and I'm still left in awe of her patience and skill!

Lastly, I especially fell in love with the stunning headpiece by Crystal Eclipse Crowns - Michelle, the Melbourne-based creative behind the label, makes magical crowns, hair combs and other jewellery with unique gemstone pieces.

Yeah, the amazing results of this collaboration have left me on a creative high, to say the least.
